The History of Trine University and its Highly Accredited Engineering Programme

Founded in 1885, Trine University is consistently ranked among the Midwest’s top universities. With its rich history of academic excellence, it is an exceptionally innovative campus with a vibrant student life. What’s more, in the last 20 years over $160 million worth of enhancements have been added to its beautiful 450-acre main campus in Angola, Indiana, as it continually strives to develop its programs and facilities.

Trine students are given the practical experience of completing real-world projects that benefit the community and the world at large, thus becoming equipped with the skills to excel in their future careers. With over 99% of its graduates finding a job or starting graduate school within six months of finishing their studies, Trine’s reputation has led to enrollment more than tripling since 2000.

Trine’s prestigious engineering programme

Trine University’s highly-acclaimed engineering programme has earned graduates the reputation of being work-ready, with many going on to become top players in their industry and earning high above the national average. This is down to the hands-on nature and stimulating learning environment of its courses. With an average class size of just 19.8, students receive personal attention from highly-experienced faculty members, many of whom have earned their doctorates from the likes of MIT, Yale, Princeton, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech.

Not only are students given plenty of practical work experience, but they use the best state-of-the-art facilities as part of Trine University’s continuous quest for excellence and to accommodate growth in student numbers. An expansion to the Best Hall of Science for health and science majors is currently underway on its Angola Campus – due to be complete by fall 2023 – following on from a brand new expansion to the Steel Dynamics Inc. Center for Engineering and Computing. Both additions feature enhanced laboratories and classrooms, and plenty of bright open spaces to foster student collaboration.
